Urban Woods Forest School’s nature preschool, also known as a forest school or forest kindergarten (meaning children’s garden in German), is a play-based, interest-led and full nature immersion early childhood education program for children aged 2.5 to 6 years. We follow the American Forest Kindergarten Model and The Cedarsong Way Nature Pedagogy for Early Childhood Education. Our approach to an emerging curriculum allows for continuous integration of STEAM learning, ensuring our program is adaptable and beneficial to our mixed age group. We are also place-based, meaning we operate from the same natural environment for all seasons which allows children to experience the day to day changes in nature. We offer a one or two day option, low student/teacher ratio and small class size. Sessions are held at a public park/trail in Fullerton, CA and caregivers are responsible for drop-off and pickup.
